BasicsActivities & collaboration

What are activities?

Activities are the central element of Salesware. After logging in, the first thing you see is the Home area of your activities. With activities you can

  • organize yourself and others,
  • structure processes,
  • keep track,
  • prepare for customer appointments,
  • work together and communicate case by case,
  • create transparency and traceability.

Activities can be notes, phone notes, tasks or visit reports, for example. They can stand on their own or be part of a larger process – such as a complaint process or a sales opportunity with its individual steps.

An activity brings together all information, files and ERP data on a case. This gives you quick, case-related access to everything.

Every activity sits inside a parent element: a collection, a structure or a notice. Even if you just create a quick note, Salesware creates a collection for it – so you can add further activities and attachments at any time. Which element fits when is explained in Collection, structure or notice – which fits when?.

You edit activities in the detail view, or get a quick overview in the quick view.

The detail view always has the same layout:

  • Header – shows the type and the name. On the right you see the participants, whether the activity is private or public, and the three-dot menu.
  • Overview – lists everything that belongs to the case under “Activities and attachments”: activities, files and linked data. With “+ Add” you create new activities, upload files or link data from the ERP system or from Salesware.
  • Detail area – shows the details of the element selected in the overview: name, description, comments and discussions and, depending on the activity type, further fields.

The icon on the left edge next to the overview switches to the quick view. It shows all information on the selected activity in compact form. Two details can be changed right there with one click: the due date and the status.

If you click another area in the quick view – the description, for example, or a message under “Comments and discussions” – the detail view opens exactly at that spot and you can continue writing straight away.
